亚琛工业大学和中国的多所大学都建立了良好及久远的合作关系，并且与中国学生及知名教授有着直接的联系。为了扩展亚琛工业大学与中国大学和学术团体在教学及研究等各方面的交流与合作，亚琛工业大学于2007年10月份在北京设立了联络处。亚琛工大驻华联络处的主要职能如下：
• 为学生们提供亚琛工业大学专业、申请步骤及申请要求等各种留学咨询工作；
• 为亚琛工业大学招收并选拔中国籍学生；
• 加强联络亚琛工业大学在华校友，如组织校友活动；
• 为亚琛工业大学提供关于中国高校研究环境的信息；
• 协助并组织亚琛工业大学代表团在中国的学习访问及研究考察；
• 为中国搭建一个有关亚琛工业大学的信息平台。

RWTH Aachen University has built effective partnerships with Chinese institutions of higher education and direct connection with Chinese students and scientists. In order to expand and deepen academic exchange between the University and China, RWTH Aachen University has established a Representation in Beijing. The Representation of RWTH Aachen University is inaugurated in October 2007 with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and was located in the building of the German Center in Beijing. The Representation in Beijing administers the following actives:
• Information for prospective students about the study programs, application procedure and requirements of RWTH Aachen University
• Recruitment and selection of Chinese applicants to RWTH Aachen University
• Contact and support of RWTH Aachen Alumni in China
• Information for academics from RWTH Aachen University about the universities and research environment in China
• Assistance in organizing projects or study visits in China
• First contact and information about RWTH Aachen University
